Re: [group] The Ocean of Air, Meteorology for Beginners by A Giberne -ck

Carolin and Leni, I need help to how to read this time on page 178 in Chapter 17: "At 5.1 we were level with them …" Before this sentence, there are other times written as 4.57 etc. Should it be read as "five-one"? Thanks. I think so. I really think he means at 5 o'clock plus 1 minute, so I would s...

Re: [group] The Ocean of Air, Meteorology for Beginners by A Giberne -ck

Carolin, I'd like to get a personal catalog page if possible. This is my second LibriVox project, and I wasn't provided with a personal page in my first project. It's exactly what I need rather than wading through the Board topic or the notifications. Thanks! UPDATE: actually I used another user's l...

Carolin, I'd like to claim chapter 17: The Mountains of Cloudland, please. Its title sounds like a children's fantasy book! Ahem, okay, back to science.

Carolin and Leni, Here's chapter 4: Air as a Mixture https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/oceanofair_04_giberne_128kb.mp3 7:50 Section 4, PL OK. I love the way the author makes simple comparisons to explain how things work, like the tea and sugar as the various chemical elements mixed together but ...

Re: [group] The Ocean of Air, Meteorology for Beginners by A Giberne -ck

Carolin, I'd like to know your footnote inclusion preference. In chapter 6, The Resistance of Air, for example, on page 65, there's a one word footnote "Todhunter." This a reference to Isaac Todhunter (https://www.york.ac.uk/depts/maths/histstat/todhunter.pdf). To me, it's a bit of a flow break to i...
