Re: SOLO The Pirate Island: A Story of the South Pacific by Harry Collingwood - tg

Tricia, how about this? Lynette am I giving too much away? A story of sea-faring adventure including a shipwreck with a daring rescue, a ship fire and a close escape, pirates and enslavement, gold, danger, redemption and a desperate bid for freedom. There is excitement in every chapter in this harro...

Sorry - I should have clarified. The intro/summary needs to either be written by you (or someone else around here) or from a PD source. I'm thinking B&N wouldn't appreciate our propagating their blurb all over the internet. ;)
I figured that was the case. :D I'll try to work something up today.

Re: SOLO The Pirate Island: A Story of the South Pacific by Harry Collingwood - tg

Here is a summary created by Barnes & Noble. The Pirate Island: A Story of the South Pacific by Harry Collingwood and Illustrated by C.J. Staniland and J. R. Wells, first published in 1884. A very exciting story. It starts with a severe gale on the Essex coast of England. A rescue is effected, as a ...

I will need a summary/intro for the catalog for this. :)
If there is no available summary/intro, is it appropriate for me to write one? I'm not much of a writer, but if that's the process, I'll give it a go.

Re: SOLO The Pirate Island: A Story of the South Pacific by Harry Collingwood - tg

A revised version of Chapter 17 has been uploaded, https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/pirateisland_17_collingwood_128kb.mp3 , length 28:11 I plan to start recording Chap 19 now. Hopefully no more tongue twisters today. This "stay at home" business is helping me speed up my production, at least. I ...

Re: SOLO The Pirate Island: A Story of the South Pacific by Harry Collingwood - tg

Ch. 17 - At 20:05 "and we hope that if so be as these here gen'lemen are thinking of topping their brooms. . ." should be booms. Although, the image of them flying off as witches is entertaining. :) Argh! I think I recorded that particular sentence a dozen times. :D I just couldn't wrap my mouth ar...

Looked like just a typo in the MW, since the link is in the thread. I changed it. Try it now. :)

Re: Play Suggestions

Thanks Todd and Kevin. I will continue engaging my daughter and her classmates on this topic. I'm hoping to keep this fun and easy for them and maybe a few will get involved in other projects. Now that they can't rehearse for any shows or audition for post-graduate work, they suddenly have free time...

Re: Play Suggestions

Any advice would be welcomed. I think it's a wonderful idea! Putting aside my excitement and enthusiasm, however, one practical point comes to mind. Is your daughter and her friends willing and able to edit their own individual recordings? That makes things much easier and certainly more in keeping...

Re: Play Suggestions

I am currently a Librivox reader (finishing my first solo project now). My daughter and her classmates are all graduating with theater/musical theater degrees in a few months and facing the reality that there are no jobs out there for them right now. They just completed an online audition process fo...
