Ah, so this is a living list...it's being curated...that's fabulous. I'm going to dive in on at least one of these. So glad you're doing this.

Re: Unrecorded Pulp Sci-Fi

What a fabulous resource! Is there a best way to determine which of these is still in need of being narrated? I'd like to do at least one.

Re: Editing out inhales?!

Sciguy - does that not affect the vocals? Or maybe the frequencies are different enough that they don't. :hmm: Very interesting! You're right...it does affect the vocals. Each application of noise reduction affects more than noise, and repeated applications of it, or aggressive settings can badly w...

Re: Editing out inhales?!

A big part of the problem is that narrators tend to listen to everything they do through headphones, which makes breathing sound exaggeratedly loud. Unless you have some sort of medical condition that causes breathing to be really loud or raspy, breathing should be left in...especially for long-form...

What I Can Do to Help

I'm so grateful for all the amazing contributions of the readers and other volunteers at Librivox. With my schedule, probably the thing I am best able to do to help the cause as a Librivox volunteer is to provide free voice coaching. I do voiceovers and coaching for a living, and am helping narrator...

Volunteering my voice coaching services to our volunteers

Our volunteers are providing a WONDERFUL service, and I've personally benefitted from it for years, having listened to many many Librivox audiobooks. As a way of giving back, I'd like to make voiceover coaching sessions available to our volunteers for free. We can get together and go over some of yo...

Re: [OPEN] Short Science Fiction Collection 064-ag

I'm very interested in reading science fiction short stories. The magic window in this post looks blank at the moment, so forgive a newbie question. Does this indicate it's a holding place where stories will be added once they have been chosen?

Nice to meet you all!

Hi, I'm Dane Scott Udenberg from Wisconsin, USA, and I'm happy to finally be starting my LibriVox journey. For years, I've listened to the LibriVox recordings, especially lately, and have often thought it would be something I'd like to do myself. I've been doing professional voice-overs and radio si...
