Thanks, Len!
Sebastian - volume is better, but could still be a little lower. Your original files had clipping (not terribly bad, but it existed) so instead of simply de-amplifying, you may want to actually lower the input volume on your system.
However, that will be in future. For now, these recordings are fine for volume.

Here is my second contribution to this collection, another of those songs of longing for the sea by old sailor Masefield:

I renamed that poem in the uploader to conform with the file naming scheme. If you haven't downloaded it yet, that link won't work. Use this one instead:

Post whatever PL notes you have in this thread.
Thanks!

Hi Sebastian
Volume is now much better. Both readings are now PL OK.
I have reloaded the recordings with their original names. The opening silence for “to” was a little long, so I have shaved about half a second from it.

Well done!

Yes, I know. The MW is adding forward slashes and other stuff to links. Use the source links in the thread posts. I'll fix everything when I catalog.LenXZ1 wrote:Tricia,
Something is wrong with the links to the text sources in the MW. Beginning with number 06, none of the later links will work.

Thanks, Loubet - I'll add your poem to the MW in a day or two.

Actually, yes. It looks like the other poster checked the poem itself (thanks, by the way, for doing that!) but not the tech specs or intro/outro.
Your volume is too low. Are you using Audacity? You should aim for your wave forms to peak near the 0.5 mark, like this:
You should be able to simply amplify this recording by 9 dB, and you'll be okay, but you'll want to increase your input volume for future recordings. Here's a link to instructions: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Audacity_1-2-3#Volume
Please amplify this one by 9 dB.
Also, your end silence is only 3 seconds; it should be 5.
Before the end silence (after the poem), please say, "End of poem."
Thanks!

I think I have the MW up to date now. Please post if you see any discrepancies. (I still need to clean up the text links - I'll get to that tomorrow.)

Welcome, Lawrence!
(1) I need the URL's for the texts - the http:// thingy
(2) I assume you didn't copy the URL's for the poems once they uploaded into the uploader. I can find them with this information: What file names did you give them, and which folder did you upload to?
(3) You want just "lh" to show up on catalog pages for the sections you read? That's fine - just making sure. Lower case?
(4) I'll need the lengths of the recordings in minutes:seconds.

Tricia,
Big problem: When I went into the Audacity program again, I found that the Villon had been saved in numerous sections. Obviously, I had saved the file wrong (as mp3). How should it have been saved?
If you would like, I will have to re-record the entire poem and go through the process again (ugh). Otherwise, you might want to delete my contribution in order to complete your collection.
Please advise,
hslam
