Thanks, Laura; I've uploaded Section 3, the first part of Chapter Three.
I've corrected a one-letter typo at about 19.40: "There is a good gravelled playground, however, were the atmosphere of corduroy is mitigated ..." read as WHERE, not WERE

Thanks, Laura; that was a left-over from when I was thinking of recording the whole chapter and cutting it in half later.
I've edited and re-uploaded section three.

Laura, it's no worry; thanks for catching it. It only takes minutes to correct. Section 3 edited and re-uploaded.

Thanks so much, Peter.
We're almost there, except now I hear what sounds like a double track in the beginning of the intro "Section 3 of The Pauper, the Thief and the Convict." After that it clears up and all else is good.

That's extremely strange; I wouldn't know how to get that effect without doing some research! Edited and re-uploaded .... again.

Thanks, Laura; I've edited and re-uploaded section 4.
It's interesting how uncomfortable the word "idiot" is in this text. These days, "idiot" has the connotation of "intentionally stupid" ... I think in Victorian times it was simply a non-emotive label for what some people now call "educationally subnormal".

Thanks, Laura,
I had a few hours between tidying the flat and my friend arriving, so worked on finishing chapter five. I was interrupted before I could upload it yesterday, but I've done it this morning. If there are more than a couple of errors, give up on PLing, and I'll go through the chapter again.

The only change needed is to the outro which was read 'end of chapter 5' rather than 'section 5'
The scene of the woman sitting by the bed of the dying woman to keep the flies off of her brought tears to my eyes. Such a sad chapter in general.
On a much happier note, enjoy your visit!

Thanks, Laura, section five edited and re-uploaded.
.... and when he came into a little ward "carelessly", and found a dead child!
It's interesting how immediate and real his descriptions are ... and all these human souls are dust now.
... and we did get into the Cheshire Cheese! Luckily it was quiet, but within the time it took us to drink a pint, the bar we were in got crowded and noisy. I think I wouldn't want to go there when the pub was really busy. Dark and complicated, with at least three bars on the ground floor; scarred wood tables and bench seats. We didn't get down into the cellar bars, as my friend has trouble with stairs. I'll definitely be back.
