Editing/Listening Volunteer opportunity (Non-LV)

Hello, it's been awhile since I've been around LibriVox, but I have been busy working as a librarian in the Michigan Braille and Talking Book Library. We provide books to people who cannot use standard print. In our library we have a small recording studio in which local volunteers record books and ...

Re: [COMPLETE] The Ladies' Paradise by Emile Zola - phil

Please tell me how you catalog a book on GoodReads, Betsie. I was thrilled to see it there, and with my cover art, no less. :D Once you have the status of "librarian" at GoodReads, you can edit and add book records. Here is the link on their help pages that leads to a link to apply to be ...

Re: [COMPLETE] The Ladies' Paradise by Emile Zola - phil

Kristin, I am so enjoying your recording of The Ladies' Paradise. I've been watching the BBC version and hadn't ever read anything by this author. There are of course many differences between the show and the book, but I am pleased with the similarities. I love the descriptions of the shops and all ...

Thank you Tricia!

Yes, I am replacing all of the files with new versions. Please delete any old audio files that happen to still exist in the uploader.

I'll look over the new MW instructions this weekend too. =)

Re: Lucy Burgoyne - luciburg

Lucy's husband Allan asked me to include the funeral service information as well. Lucy had friends all over the world thanks to the magic of the Internet, but if you happen to be in the area, you are welcome to attend: St Andrews Presbyterian Church John Street, CLIFTON Qld at 2.00 pm Tuesday 21st O...

[FIXED] Cataloging error (solo/collab)

This follow are marked as Solo in the catalog but are actually Collaborative. (Or at least, they are showing up on my profile as being my solo projects but ended up being collaborative projects.) https://librivox.org/the-story-of-doctor-dolittle-by-hugh-lofting/ https://librivox.org/country-of-the-p...

Re: [FICTION] - When Lighthouses are Dark by E.C. Brill -arb

Sorry for the delays. I started a new job and managed to misplace my iRiver T10 in the transition. I WILL finish this project (I have a history of taking long breaks from projects but still completing them eventually), but it won't be until later in 2013. (I have updated the projected finish date to...

Re: Preparing the summaries on New Projects - Discussion?

I like to use book reviews that were published around the same time as the book was originally published... gives a nice authentic feel. I usually find the book reviews by doing a search in Google Books for the title and adding the word "review" to the search. Here are some examples: http:...

Re: Short Story Collection Vol. 053 - gu

Hey, darkhorse, try playing with the Change Speed and Change Tempo filters on Audacity and see if you can get it to smoosh the length of your file down to a more manageable size (without making you sound like a chipmunk, of course). It's worth a try... don't forget to save a copy of the original bef...

Re: [Group] Across The Years by Eleanor H. Porter - phi

EDIT: So ..... you like E. Porter? Have you done many of her books solo? I had heard of her (and listened to the Miss Billy series), but I hadn't recorded anything by her before. I especially like short stories by women from this time period. I may look to see what else is available by her to recor...
